The Bob Flating Scholarship

Each year, TOP COP Hawaii is proud to present the Bob Flating Scholarship to an individual pursuing a degree in criminal justice. This scholarship honors the legacy of Bob Flating as an expert in the security field and supports the next generation of public safety professionals.

If you are interested in applying for this grant, please complete the application form below and follow the instructions provided. All submissions will be reviewed, and selected applicants will be contacted directly.

General Scholarship Applicant Requirements

Although applications are not based on financial need, funds will be directed to any accredited college, university or community college and therefore may offset any other financial aid provided to the applicant.
Currently enrolled part-time or full-time in a criminal justice degree program at an accredited college.
Obtain official transcript demonstrating a minimum of 2.0 GPA.
Obtain a letter of recommendation from your current college professor.
Write a 250-word essay outlining your interest in a criminal justice degree and your plans post-degree.
Complete application by September 1, 2025.
Be available to attend the TOP COP Award Banquet scheduled for October 17, 2025, at the Ala Moana Hotel, Hibiscus Room, beginning at 11:00 am.
